The Missouri River experienced catastrophic flooding in March of 2019. Southwest Iowa was particularly hard hit, with communities in Mills and Fremont counties such as Hamburg, Glenwood, Bartlett, and Pacific Junction suffering catastrophic losses of homes, businesses, and stored corn and soybeans. These communities continue to face serious challenges and questions about how to rebuild and prepare for future floods.
IEC is engaging people in SW Iowa to advocate for natural flood prevention strategies. Add your name below to get materials, be contacted for future advocacy trainings, or other opportunities to advocate for natural flood prevention in your community.
