Local climate action is vital in ensuring a community that is healthy, resilient, and sustainable. Iowa City residents are invited to participate in this event to engage in grassroots action at 100% Iowa’s I Heart Climate Action: Community Advocacy and Letter Writing Event.
I đź’“ Heart Climate Action
Date: Thursday, February 10, 2022
Time: 5:30 – 7:00 PM
Location: Iowa City Public Library, Meeting Room A
Gather safely in person for this Valentine’s Day-themed event that will kick off with a presentation by 100% Iowa, followed by brief remarks from guest speakers from 100 Grannies for a Livable Future and The University of Iowa Environmental Coalition. Attendees will learn more about the 24/7 carbon-free energy initiative in Iowa City, and write “love letters” for clean energy and climate action!
These personally crafted letters will be sent to your local elected officials to show support for a 24/7 carbon-free commitment in Iowa City. The event will conclude with a networking session for folks to engage with other community advocates. Postcards, snacks, and refreshments will be provided.
In accordance with the Iowa City Public Library’s policy, masks will be required at the event.
Can’t attend in person? An online toolkit will be emailed to all registrants following the event.
