Join IEC for an evening of art and entertainment at the 2nd annual IEC Green Gala & Art Auction on Thursday, September 14, at Mainframe Studios in downtown Des Moines. Savor locally created appetizers and beverages as you take in the inspiring art available for auction. We'll present awards, celebrating Iowans making a difference for our green future, and thank everyone in attendance with a thoughtful gift to inspire and delight.

The Art

We will have more than 20 pieces of art submitted by artists across Iowa and beyond, inspired by our natural environment. See the art available in the silent auction for people to bid in person and online. 

We'll also have several incredible items to be auctioned off live at the event, including three paintings from Des Moines artist Jenna Brownlee and a piece from New York-based Iowa native Hannah Fons.

The Honorees

IEC will recognize four individuals, businesses, or organizations doing important work to develop and support renewable energy, expand energy efficiency efforts, hasten the electrification transition, grow the adoption of electric vehicles, or other efforts to expand the clean energy future in Iowa. 

♦ The Energy Group and the late Kelly Needles with the Impact Through Advocacy award;
♦ Sikowis Nobiss, Mahmud Fitil, and Great Plains Action Society with Community Champion award;
♦ Alliant Energy, Iowa State University, and Anne Kimber with the Business Innovation award;
♦ and young advocate Hannah Hayes with the Youth Champion award.

The Event - wear your best green!

The event will take place in the spectacular Big Room of Mainframe Art Studio, a visionary nonprofit supporting and elevating arts and artists in Central Iowa.

You'll enjoy delicious food, including vegan and vegetarian options, will be catered by Tangerine Food Company, who locally sources ingredients for their events and Tito's Handmade Vodka will sponsor our hosted bar for the evening! 

Enjoy music provided by DJ Jaide Knight and special gifts for attendees, including a limited-edition etched recycled wine glass from IEC. 

The event is semi-formal and attendees are encouraged to come in green attire or accessories in keeping with the theme of the evening. You'll get an update on IEC's clean energy work, and see awards recognizing clean energy champions from across the state.
