Join IEC for an evening of art and entertainment at the inaugural IEC Green Gala & Art Auction on Thursday, November 10, at Mainframe Studios in downtown Des Moines. Savor locally created appetizers and beverages as you take in the inspiring art available for auction. We'll present awards, celebrating Iowans making a difference for our green future, and thank everyone in attendance with a thoughtful gift to inspire and delight.

The Art

25 pieces of art have been submitted for the auction from artists around Iowa and across the country, and most will be on hand to view at the event. The auction will take place online with bidding open through midnight on November 10 for anyone at the event or those who wish to bid online from anywhere in Iowa. But you don't have to wait - you can view and even start bidding on the art now!

In addition, we're excited to announce that we have commissioned an original painting from celebrated artist and muralist Ben Schuh, which will be auctioned off live during the event. 

The Event - wear your best green!

The event will take place in the spectacular Big Room of Mainframe Art Studio, a visionary nonprofit supporting and elevating arts and artists in Central Iowa. Food and drinks will be catered by Tangerine Food Company, who locally sources ingredients for their events. 

The event is semi-formal and attendees are encouraged to come in green attire or accessories in keeping with the theme of the evening. 

Enjoy music provided by DJ Jaide Knight and delightful gifts from Red Door Press, Niman Ranch, Peace Tree Brewing, and more. 

Awards recognizing clean energy champions will be presented to:

• the Iowa Chapter of the Blue Green Alliance;
• the City of Waterloo for their 24/7 carbon-free energy resolution;
• Greenpenny Bank of Decorah; and
• Keith Denner, President of Professional Property Management in West Des Moines.
